There’s something so eerily unfamiliar, yet somehow expected about a foggy NYC. The tops of buildings disappearing into gray. A kind of spirit hovering over a dense green Central Park. Even amongst the fog, Maysoon and Mauricio confidently owned the city, leading us around its wet streets.
These two. They’re opposites in a lot of ways but together they are a fiery force. They’re full of hospitality. They believe in each other. They’ve got gumption. They fall into each other so well. We feel so privileged to be recipients of everything they radiate.
It started pouring as soon as Alex and I got off the train and made our way to Mauricio’s office. Together, we waited for the rain to stop over coffee and these tiny fluffy donuts from the Doughnuttery. Obsessed.
And then the rain stopped. The fog descended. And we lost our dang minds.
We can’t wait to do it all again in just a few weeks when they celebrate their marriage with all their friends and family.
