Lauren + Mike | Colorful Bohemian Farm Wedding | South Farms, Morris CT

If there’s one word to describe Lauren + Mike it’s this: Intentional. Man, do these guys live in the moment, take care of the people around them, and make deliberate choices that are full of such heart.

They focused their wedding at South Farms in Morris CT on family. They had no bridal party, just their closest family by their side. Lauren’s mother quietly tied her into her Grace Loves Lace gown after a tearful goodbye from her beauty team, All Dolled Up, in the modern farmhouse they rented for the weekend. Lauren’s bouquet by Sarah Worden Naturals even had miniature portraits of the lovers that have come before them.

It all felt like an intimate elopement in the Litchfield hills, until the family and friend packed ceremony, standing room in the back, hooting and hollering, craning necks in the aisle to get a better look. Their tribe certainly loves these two and cheer them on hard.

Mike’s eldest brother married them. We just love when couples choose someone who they know and trust to perform the ceremony. (Tears guaranteed.) He spoke into their lives and imparted that wisdom that only a brother could give.

They kept their rings in a little jar and allowed the guests to pass them during the ceremony so each person could infuse a prayer, blessing, or positive loving energy into them. This might be our most favorite thing we’ve ever see happen at a wedding.

They danced their way into the warm and inviting barn, and every guest held hands to pray before dinner at the long candlelit farm tables with mismatched chairs. We ate colorful carrots and wild mushrooms from Hunt + Harvest. They named their signature cocktail after their dog, Belle.

And they somehow found time to leave the dance floor and walk around to every single person to give them a meaningful touch, hug, and a big “thank you.”

And while this all may seem very civil and calm and peaceful, make no mistake. These two know how to have fun and laughed their way through every moment. (Ok, and cried also). All of their brothers (yes, there were lots of brothers!) roasted them lovingly, as any good brother should do. Their cake cutting was wild and messy. And they giggled their way outside with their fresh cigars.

We’ve learned so much about loving your community and family from Lauren + Mike. Congrats again you two! We’re thrilled for you!
