Kelley – Southford Falls State Park

I fall in love with New England more and more everyday. This is huge coming from a girl who once dreamed of fleeing the Northeast and never looking back.

November through March particularly made me long for a sunny exile. I couldn’t look past the bitter cold, gray skies, and bare trees of these all too familiar winters.

But this year, everything changed.

I’m embracing and even loving the erratic weather thanks to a shutter button and friends who are as crazy as I am. Were I to leave New England now, I would miss its covered bridges, gushing waterfalls, sideways blowing snow, and beautiful and brave friends like Kelley who can throw my camera a squinch or two.

We nearly froze, but that’s New England; it’s lovely and harsh like that. I’m proud to be blooming where I’m rooted.

[Many thanks to Vanessa for thrifting the ridiculously fabulous fur coat and generously donating it for the sake of art]
