In her speech, Kait’s sister shared how the greatest thing about marriage is supporting your spouse and knowing that they’re gonna support you right back. What could be greater than that? A circle of support. An unbreakable bond.
And these two…they just get each other. Kait + Mike are one of the more ambitious couples we’ve ever met. Between marathons and starting businesses, they’ve got a LOT going on. But just the way they looked at each other all day, we could tell that they were so proud of all the other had accomplished. And that they appreciate everything that they are.
One of the more hilarious moments was during their reception entrance. They ran into their reception together, danced a little in the middle, but then Mike split off and ran around the circle of friends and family, giving high fives and shaking hands like a famous baseball player after a big win. Kait danced in the middle and laughed her head off. What a perfect (and goofy…boy oh boy are these two goofy!) picture of supporting one another, even as they’re pursuing their individual plans.
As silly as they were, they’re also incredibly thoughtful. Kait made it clear from our initial emails that family was important. For example, she wanted to bless their siblings with nice portraits of their individual families, since they’d be all dressed up. She also wore her grandmother’s fur stole. Their signature cocktail was Mike’s grandpa’s favorite: a Manhattan (perhaps this was the reason for all the goofiness). Kait wore the veil that both her best friends wore at their own weddings.
It was the middle of November, and Le Chateau (just reopened in South Salem, NY) was the perfect host for their cozy, goofy, evening fall wedding. Between the warmth of the fireplaces, that romantic American chestnut staircase, and the jaw dropping ballroom, they had quite the party!

It was early November if we’re remembering correctly, but man was it cold!
